Taster Day 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you want to try beekeeping to see what’s involved, book a place on our Taster Day. Details are on our Learning page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Bee Day – Saturday 16 M<\/strong>ay<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We will be celebrating World Bee Day on Saturday 16th May from 10am to 4pm.  Please come along to find out more about bees of all kinds and especially our honey bees, and what you can do to help these vital insects. There will beekeepers for you to meet and ask questions, information displays, and a rolling video presentation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All through the day there will be activities for children and adults too. Rolling a beeswax candle, making your own cardboard bee and putting together a bug bracelet made from beads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our microscopes will be out for you to take a closer look at a bee and other pollinators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tea, coffee, squash and delicious homemade cakes will be available for you to buy and enjoy in our relaxing environment. You will be able to take a tour of wonderful site, with its walkways and wetland area, and the 500 year old wells that provided clean drinking water to the people of Shrewsbury for hundreds of years.  No need to book.  There is some parking available \u2013 we will do our best to fit you in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
