The Shropshire Honey Show<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Shropshire Honey Show is on Saturday 5th September – come and see us in Shrewsbury at the Shropshire Wildlife Centre, The Cut, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury SY2 6AH. The event is open to the public from 12.00 till 4.30 – it is free to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beekeepers from Shropshire Associations (Oswestry BKA, Ludlow & District BKA, North Shropshire BKA and Shropshire BKA) will be exhibiting their honey, wax products, honey cakes and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information about beekeeping and how to get started will be available, and there will be refreshments too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honey show<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Good Bee Husbandry Day for all beekeepers old and ne<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

10.30 \u2013 16.00 19th<\/sup> August @ Field Studies Council\u2019s Preston Montford Centre, Montford Bridge, Shrewsbury SY4 1DX<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be a day of useful workshops and practical sessions covering all aspects of good beekeeping practice with a team of experienced Bee Inspectors from the National Bee Unit led by Andy Wattam the National Bee Inspector. Informal and relaxed day with ample opportunity to see Bee Diseases in a controlled setting (all necessary protective clothing provided and safely removed), discuss your beekeeping and hopefully take away information which will help and improve your beekeeping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduction to Microscopy<\/strong> –SOLD OUT<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1st August 2026 09:30 \u2013 16:00<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a course tutored by Sean Stephenson, a Master Beekeeper and Moderator of the BBKA Exam Board. Sean runs microscopy workshops for the BBKA and at the BBKA Spring Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day will comprise of a morning session of using microscopes for disease analysis (Acarine & Nosema) and dissection, then an afternoon session making pollen slides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ideally attendees will follow on from the training and become a member of a SBKA Microscopy Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cost will be \u00a320.  Tea and coffee are provided, but you will need to bring your own lunch. Book a place on the Learning page<\/p>\n\n\n\n
